One Single Impression -- Blue Rain

Two Haiku

muddy torrents dash
dreams, sweep hope and life away
--excesses of spring.

***

destructive water
pours off denuded mountains
--legacy of coal.

"Clean coal" is a dangerous myth. Help stop mountain top removal mining. Call your representative to support the Clean Water Protection Act. Learn more about the devastating way in which coal is mined today at http://www.ilovemountains.org/, and what you can do to stop it.

Clean at too high a price.

Spring has exacted quite a toll on the landscape--or have our handprints and footprints transmogrified her gifts into something quite ungracious?

Water is our most important resource. It soon may become the most valuable.
We can and do reclaim our Texas land after the mining but those mountains can't be built back up by man.

And now they're touting clean natural gas too *shaking head in disgust* Well, anyway, I did enjoy your photos and haikus!!

I guess I won't complain about our days of gentle rain after seeing your torrents.

A timely most, and very good advice, Sue.

Great post! Despite the "destruction", had a rather positive feel to it!

Coal slurry poisons our waters. Web of life disturbed, landscape forever altered. Massy pays fine, continues to shatter mountains.

Powerful message in those muddy waters. thank you!

Thank you for these; esp. your message about clean coal. Eastern MT is the coal country in Montana and I cringe every time they talk about it being clean. Clean on neither end.
