One Single Impression -- Resolve

"One Single Impression": this week's prompt was "Resolve."
My poem:

Good luck with that!

We demand an explanation,
the definitive, final, this-time-it’s-right answer,
a resolution to all our concerns
an unraveling of the mysteries.
We want “just the facts m’am,”
tied up in a neat conclusion,
none of this scientific uncertainty.
No preponderance of evidence,
no ninety-five percent confidence,
we want proof.
We want things cleared up,
to get to the bottom of it all,
we want it resolved!

Good luck with that.

Love this - especially the humor and the loop back to the begining in the last line, nice post!

And we'd need luck, 'cos there's no such thing. A point you make well.

I loved it. Made me laugh which I love. And it's so true. Not only do we want it all resolved, we want it handed to us on a silver platter.

I have to add that with 10 cats you have to be passionately opinionated to survive.

Very good. It made me miss 'CSI' *smiles*

This poem shows the clash between the scientific age and the move into postmodernity. Very nice.

Good luck, indeed. I wonder why we cling to certainty when experience shows we never have it!

A clear snap shot of human nature with a dash of humor. Ain't it the truth!

Given a choice I much prefer the grey mysteries of this or that, and maybes, to the black and white concrete conclusions of life. Driving a grey car makes it much easier to change directions when I come to crossroads in life.

How true is that!! We want it but it just doesn't happen enough. Great poem.

I love how this made me see: anything less than 100% correct does not mean 0% correct.

Excellent.

As your poem suggests, the resolve we most want is the one all polished and groomed by someone else! No personal pain involved! Love this!
