One Single Impression -- Gift

Gift

this day, wrapped in gold
and scarlet leaves on the wind
beneath the gray sky.

gold and ruby leaves
banked on hillsides, dancing light
pure incandescence.

John’s gift

your love, unstinted
enfolding me forever
only gift desired.

Day, nature and relationship all perfectly wrapped in words and offered as a gift to the reader.
Nicely done.

How absolutely lovely Sue. You've certainly paid tribute to this wonderful prompt.

All three of these are beautiful. Would that we all had someone like John in our lives. A precious gift indeed...

thanks, the title "John's gift" has two meanings, his gift to me, and the poem as an anniversary (10/29) gift to him.

I like the image of the leaves banked on the hillside. It makes me think of the banked fires that awaited my return on cold fall days when I lived in Ireland.

Hi Sue, I like the last poem best. I too have a beagle, her love is unstinted and enfolds me forever.
Just search for Adi or Adi Can on my blogs to visit her.
Or was I correct with my first reading before I saw the picture, the guy by the dog is your (author's) special gift?
:-)

Sue, these are so neat. They make me feel very happy. I like they way you put your page together, too.

These are all gems. I like the way you catch the immediate gifts of the moment in words.
