snow days

Several afternoons recently, I've sat in my office at work and watched the snow storms engulf the town, and listened to the emergency notification broadcast telling me that the rest of the days classes have been canceled.


ghost mountains behind
swirling cold crystal curtains
shutting down the day.

your two poems reminds me that in the 60s i used to buy postcards on family vacations; write the date and what we were doing and post them to my future self by putting them into a an old keds sneaker box in my closet. years later it is astonishing to read these messages
